I need to travel abroad, is there anything I can do to shorten my time in isolation?

Having to self isolate for a long period on return is really disruptive, can anything be done?

reduce covid-19 isolation time when travelling abroad

Our Take...

Even though it is necessary in many situations, we are very aware of how disruptive having to self isolate can be. If you have just returned from a holiday or a business trip, a further two weeks in a Isolation can be frustrating, costly and disincentivises travel.

But we have good news!

The UK minister for transport Grant Shapps recently announced that as of the 15.12.2020 travellers will be able to purchase Covid-19 tests as a means of reducing the amount of time needed to self-isolate. The new regulations state that you will be able to come out of self-isolation if you pass a Covid-19 test on day 5. The minister said the following:

“Our new testing strategy will allow us to travel more freely, see loved ones and drive international business. By giving people the choice to test on day five, we are also supporting the travel industry as it continues to rebuild out of the pandemic.”

This announcement is certainly a welcome one that will be of great benefit for holiday goers or for those of us who need to work abroad.

In advance of the upcoming regulations if you are planning on travelling abroad and will be returning after the 15.12.2020 then you can purchase our back to lab PCR antigen tests here.
