Which test?

I think I'm experiencing symptoms of Covid-19

How can I find out if I actually have the Virus and are there any suitable private tests available?

Our Take...

It’s fair to say that Covid19 has proven to be an unpredictable virus, and it can affect people in radically different ways. It’s important to state up front that we at Kilter are not here to replace the NHS, if you experience any of the recognised symptoms by the NHS then you are eligible for a state funded test through the NHS.  However if your symptoms and circumstances do not meet the requirements listed, you are not likely eligible for an NHS test, and that’s where we can help.

We offer several different types of CE approved Coronavirus testing kits.

But what about people who don’t have any symptoms?

Much has been written recently speculating about the percentage of the population that is unknowingly carrying and potentially spreading Covid-19. Research from around the world shows that anywhere between 20% and 86% of infected people are asymptomatic. This means that there is a chance that you may have the virus, but no symptoms at all. People who are asymptomatic like this are still highly infectious and could pose a danger to those around them, which is why testing is so important.

How can a person not know that they have Covid-19?

The short answer is that nobody really knows why some people are affected by the virus and why some are not. Everybody has a unique immune system, allowing some to be positive and transmitting the disease while remaining in good health. Others become seriously ill.

What should you do?

When you can’t tell who has got the virus, the safest approach is to assume that you and everyone else may have it. But don’t panic if you have any concerns or would just like some piece of mind, get yourself tested.

It’s also important to remember that there are many different viruses that can produce symptoms that initially seem like Covid19. Again, it’s important not to panic. If your symptoms don’t align with the NHS requirements then buy a test.
